I got to see the MS Dos prompt once again; a friends Acer laptop was refusing to startup.
Since they had the Vista (…) OS on their laptop i started up using the safe boot mode option. After a LONG time waiting around there was an option to show the MS Dos prompt.
I tried around memcheck but that didn’t fix anything. Gladly, the good old chkdsk showed me that all sorts of DLL’s (the rotten bottem on which the OS relies) seemed to have gone corrupt. chkdsk /F made the app go around and actually fix stuff.
It took a long time but an appearing smile and sigh of relieve made going back to the good old MS Dos times worthwile.
Damn do i love ma Macs!
